The role of artisans.
Every artisan trains for over a decade. We place each category with a workshop that has spent years on that craft alone, and check every piece against a standard we set in Sri Lanka.

Five stages, in this order.
Leather selection
Hides are inspected by hand, graded for grain consistency and matched for colour. Only hides that meet our standard enter the workshop.
Manual polishing
Hand-polishing brings out the hide's grain, clears surface marks and readies the leather for cutting.
Stitching & assembly
The cut pieces are stitched by hand with marine-grade polyester thread. Hardware goes on next, fitted and load-tested, then the edges are burnished and sealed. Nothing moves to finishing until it passes the bench inspection.
Custom details
Monogram engraving, RFID linings, private-label embossing and custom sizing happen at this stage, with precision laser cutting for the fine work.
Final inspection
Every finished piece is checked against the written specification before it ships. Pass, or it stays on the bench.

BIG CAT buys to a grade, not to a supplier. Full-grain is the top layer of the hide with the grain left on it — never split down, never sanded and stamped to imitate one. Every tannery we buy from works to that same written grade. It is why a wallet cut in one workshop and a belt cut in another reach the counter as the same leather.
To confirm — Tannery, country of origin and tanning method are published here once BIG CAT confirms them. They are verifiable claims, so nothing stands in their place in the meantime.
When you hold a BIG CAT product, you hold the work of generations.
Tradition carried forward.
Leather treatment
Natural oils condition the hide for suppleness and durability. A water-resistant treatment goes on as part of finishing.
Precision laser cutting
Engraving, monogramming and fine detail work. The laser does what hand tools once did: the same eye behind it, a steadier hand.
CAD prototyping
3D prototyping before any hide is cut. Patterns are refined digitally, tested for fit and finish, then committed to production.
In-house testing
Tensile strength, wear and tear, moisture resistance, all tested at our own bench in every workshop we use. This is our own practice, not a certification.
From rawhide to refined luxury, every BIG CAT product becomes stronger, softer, and more beautiful with time.
